Ann Nieuwenhuis' Proven Leadership

I am seeking election to the office of Township Supervisor so I can continue to be actively engaged?locally, regionally and statewide ? in the critical conversations, to solve today?s governmental problems. I pledge to stay informed on upcoming issues- local, regional and statewide- and to share this information with you, the voters, and with all the Township board members.

The leaders of successful government have a vision for the future while focusing on the day-to-day operations. I promise to work closely with all of the Township board members to find ways to enhance and preserve the quality of life for Comstock Township.

I will focus on increased communication and teamwork. Effective communication is crucial for positive board and citizen interaction. A strong cohesive team can address all of the required statues and still solve the unique challenges and problems facing Comstock Township. Thriving township boards recognize, appreciate and utilize the diversity amongst board members.

I look forward to engaging Comstock township residents and community leaders in discussions about the future of our Township. Critical conversations about today?s challenges need to begin locally. We need to sit down and approach issues in a realistic manner and work together to confront our long-term problems.

A good leader is someone who plays a key role in creating an atmosphere in which all opinions are respected and valued. A supervisor needs to keep focused on the board?s direction ensuring that all members share the vision and that the township?s decisions support the mission.

I am eager to hear from citizens and work with board members so everyone gets a chance to voice their opinions. Once we find consensus and vote on the issue, we can work together to implement Common Sense Solutions to build a better Comstock Township.

I want to hear Comstock citizens describe Comstock Township government as effective, accountable and accessible. I would appreciate your vote on Tuesday November 6, 2012.
